Becoming a scientist? You can do it!

It's curiosity that, at first, led us to assist to this conference, and we weren't disappointed at all. Scientific research consists in a range of different fields such as the infinitesimally small, the infinitely large or the living, and everyone can find his groove. Despite the variations in research fields, the methods used by the scientists are quite similar. As we went to this conference, we expected to meet an old, bearded, and a bit crazy scientist, but this was far from the truth. Scientists are casual people, with the same needs, the same hobbies and the same ambitions. Even if the studies required can seem quite long and boring  ("bac + 5" to get a master II and then 3 years of thesis), they really worth the investment given for those guided by passion. The world needs more scientists, and you can be one of them!

Devenir chercheur? C'est possible!

C'est poussés par la curiosité que nous nous sommes orientés vers cette conférence, et nous n'avons pas été déçus. La recherche scientifique englobe un très grand nombre de domaines de recherche tels que l'infiniment petit, l'infiniment grand ou encore le vivant et chacun peut y trouver son compte. Malgré les variations de domaine, les méthodes de recherche restent les mêmes. Une chose qui nous a également surpris est le fait que nous nous attendions à avoir affaire à un vieux scientifique barbu et un peu dérangé sur les bords, alors que la vérité est bien loin de là. Les chercheurs sont des gens comme les autres avec les mêmes besoins, les mêmes loisirs et les mêmes ambitions. Bien que les études puissent paraître longues et fastidieuses (bac + 5 pour obtenir un master II puis thèse de 3 ans), elles en valent le coup pour ceux qui ont la passion. Le monde à besoin de chercheurs, et vous pourriez également en devenir un!
